So I did this quite awhile ago but never really posted before and after pics so here we go. Jon was cleaning out a building and decided to throw this in the dumpster.
When I got home and saw it in the dumpster-I immediately told them to get it back out and give it to me! Which of course they did.
ROUND ONE:
First I spray painted it black. This was my first time spray painting anything so I got the cheap stuff which I will never do again. I bought some cute wrapping paper and glued it with spray adhesive onto the back paneling of the book shelf and this was my final product.
I liked it, but I didn't LOVE it. And when I decided to paint my hand me down dresser grey with some antiquated white on it-I decided to redo the bookshelf to add some gray and white and make it pop a little more.
ROUND TWO:
I started by painting the sides all white which eventually led to painting the actual shelves all white as all. The black cheap spray paint was very sticky and collected a TON of dust which was my biggest DISLIKE about the bookshelf. After I painted it white-I decided I wanted to add some gray and maybe a little yellow. I also tried a stencil which worked at first but I kinda ruined it and got too lazy to redo everything again. One side of shelf is all white with some Umbra flowers hanging on it as jewelry holders. The other side is thick stripes of Black Chalkboard Paint-gotta buy chalk still, white, and blocks of grey, white and yellow. I love it now :)
